YeeHaw! Red Bull Air Races Return In 2014! (With Video)
This video isn't new, it's actually from 2008, but it's a great primer for understanding the precision required to fly in the Red Bull Air Races... and the production value of everything RBAR means that this video feels like it's from today.
The BIG NEWS here is that the after 3 years of hiatus, the re-tooled Red Bull Air Races are back for 2014 with a seven race schedule that begins in Abu Dhabi (Feb 1 - Mar 1, 2014) and ends in China (Nov 1-2, 2014) - you can view the full schedule along with the 12 pilot listings and loads more info at redbullairrace.com.

I know nothing of what the live in-person experience is like watching the Red Bull Air Races, but the live internet streaming broadcasts that were offered in past seasons were absolutely incredible to watch. My assumption is that they'll be back again with the streaming broadcasts and highly recommend you find a way to take them in. It's truly a world-class production.
There are two U.S. stops for the tour, one in Las Vegas, Nevada (Oct 11-12, 2014) and prior to that in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas in September. I'm seeing some conflicting info on the dates for the Texas race... most are showing it as Sept 13-14, 2014, but info just posted on Nigel Lamb's facebook page includes and image with all tour dates posted showing Texas as Sept 6-7, 2014. I sure hope they actually run on the 6-7 dates so as not to conflict with the 2014 Reno Air Races.
The bottom line tho: in 2014, the Red Bull Air Races are Smoke On! #awesome

I'd lay odds that 'Slick' makes a video. : )
